# Idea to Song

> Turn a voice memo, a hummed melody or a rough demo into a full song arrangement with Vocuno or Suno.

**Idea to Song** develops a raw musical idea into a finished song. Record a voice memo, hum a melody or bring a rough demo, describe the sound you want, and get a new arrangement built on your idea.

## Engines

The Vocuno engine needs an **annual Starter**, **Pro** or **Studio** plan.

## How to use it

1. Add your idea: **upload** a file, **record** it in the browser, or pick it from your **library**.
2. Pick **Vocuno** or **Suno**.
3. Describe the **sound and style** you want, or tap a style preset.
4. With Suno, choose **Vocals + music** or **Instrumental**.
5. Optionally open **Advanced** to set a song title or add lyrics. Leave lyrics blank to work from your recording.
6. Generate. Your songs appear in the **Idea to Song** tab of your library.

## Frequently asked questions

    Yes, with Suno. The Vocuno engine always makes a song with vocals, so pick Suno for instrumental output.

  <Accordion title="Why was my recording refused with Suno?">
    Suno only accepts original ideas and checks uploads for copyrighted music. If your recording contains a known song, switch to Vocuno.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I need to write lyrics?">
    No. Leave the lyrics blank to work from your recording, or add your own in **Advanced**.

  <Accordion title="What's the difference with Remix / Cover?">
    [Remix / Cover](/create/cover-remix) re-sings an existing song in a new style. Idea to Song is made for unfinished ideas of your own, like a hummed hook or a phone recording.
